Police Beat

-On Sunday, June 9th at 2:28A.M. Henry County Deputies responded to a two vehicle traffic crash on Interstate 80 near Colona.  Minor injuries reported by a passenger.  After investigation of the crash Deputies issued a citation for failing to reduce speed to avoid an accident to the driver of one vehicle, Joshua Wells (age 24) of Kewanee.

 

-On Tuesday, June 11th at 10:33P.M. Henry County Deputies went to investigate a complaint at an apartment building on N. East St. in Cambridge.  During investigation Deputies arrested Rebecca Anders (age 29) of Cambridge on a Henry County arrest warrant for failing to appear in court for a traffic offense.

 

-On Thursday, June 13th at 9:58P.M. Henry County Deputies responded to a domestic disturbance at a campsite in Johnson Sauk Trail Park in rural Kewanee.  After initial investigation Deputies arrested Jesse Pash (age 54) of Aurora, IL for 2 counts of felony domestic battery.  He was taken to the Henry County Jail.


At approximately 5:08 Pm, Kewanee Police followed up on a previous call in the area of the 500 Block of Pleasant Street. At the scene, Kewanee Police cited 19 year old Elmer Herrera Nunez of Kewanee for Obstructing Justice, Criminal Damage to Property, Failure to Report an Accident and Leaving the Scene of an Accident. 

 

At approximately 7:32 Pm, Kewanee Police were called to the area of the 500 Block of South Main Street regarding a dog running at large. At the scene, Kewanee Police cited John H Trussen for allowing a dog to run at large. 

 

At approximately 11:07 Pm Kewanee Police were called to the 1800 Block of Lake Street. At the scene, Kewanee Police arrested 38 year old Marvin H McGill for Domestic Battery. He was taken the Henry County Jail. 

 

At approximately 12:40 Am Kewanee Police made a traffic stop in the area of Prospect and Tremont. In that stop, Kewanee Police cited 27 year old Dominique L Ensley for Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle. 


At approximately 9:49 Am Kewanee Police were called to the 600 Block of Tenney Street regarding a Retail Theft. At the scene, Kewanee Police arrested 75 year old John C Sterling of Altona and 55 year old Brenda K Anderson of Galva on charges of Retail Theft. 

 

At approximately 4:02 Pm Kewanee Police were called to the area of the 100 Block of Vine Street regarding Children Playing in the Street. At the scene, Kewanee Police arrested 51 year old Kristen S Ziegler of Kewanee for Child Endangerment. 

 

At approximately 8:54 Pm Kewanee Police were called to the area of Central and Grove regarding a Domestic Disturbance. At the scene. Kewanee Police arrested 26 year old Kya Rachel Elizabeth Kelly of Kewanee for Aggravated Domestic Battery and Resisting a Peace Officer with Injury. Kelly was taken to the Henry County Jail, there is no word on the extent of the injury to the Police Officer. 

 

-On Monday, June 10th at 8:13P.M. Henry County Deputy made a traffic stop on N1200St in rural Kewanee.  The driver of the vehicle, Colton Smith (age 26) of Kewanee, was issued a notice to appear citation for driving on a suspended drivers license.


-On Wednesday, June 5th at 9:37A.M. Henry County Deputies responded to a traffic crash on Wolf Rd. near 1000E.  The driver of a vehicle, Francis Cathelyn (age 87) of Geneseo, was issued a citation for failing to reduce speed to avoid an accident for side-swiping a semi parked on the shoulder of the road. No injuries were reported.

 

-On Wednesday, June 5th at 11:10P.M. Henry County Deputies responded to a single vehicle traffic crash on E. Wolf Rd. at Grange Rd.  The driver of the vehicle, Kaler Deakin (age 21) of Geneseo, was issued citations for improper lane usage, failing to reduce speed to avoid an accident, and operating uninsured vehicle.  He was also arrested for DUI and resisting a peace officer.

 

-On Friday, June 7th at 11:57A.M. Henry County Deputies responded to a traffic crash on New St. in rural Kewanee.  The driver of one vehicle, Justin Cox (age 30) of Annawan, was issued citations for failing to reduce speed to avoid an accident and leaving the scene of a property damage accident.  No injuries were reported.

 

-On Sunday, June 9th at 2:25A.M. Henry County Deputies responded to a traffic crash on Interstate 80 near Colona.  Non life-threatening injuries reported.  The driver of one vehicle, Joshua Wells (age 24) of Kewanee, was issued a citation for failing to reduce speed to avoid an accident.  He was also arrested on a Bureau County arrest warrant for the charge of aggravated Battery.  He was taken to the Henry County Jail.

 

-On Monday, June 10th at 8:13P.M. Henry County Deputy made a traffic stop on N1200St in rural Kewanee.  The driver of the vehicle, Colton Smith (age 26) of Kewanee, was issued a notice to appear citation for driving on a suspended drivers license.


At approximately 4:14 Pm on Friday, Kewanee Police made a traffic stop in the area of the 1100 Block of June Street. In that stop, Kewanee Police cited 44 year old Joseph H Vervynck of Kewanee for Driving While License Revoked. 

 

At approximately 12:04 Am on Saturday, Kewanee Police were called to the area of the 400 Block of North Grace regarding a Suspicious Vehicle. At the scene, Kewanee Police arrested Damie-Ann L Kerg, 18 year old, of Kewanee for Possession of a Controlled Substance. 

 

At approximately 2:18 Pm on Saturday Kewanee Police were called to the scene of an emergency response by EMS. At the scene, Kewanee Police arrested 24 year old Chelsie R Shaw of Kewanee on a Henry County Warrant for Failure to Appear in Court on charges of Possession of Methamphetamine, Criminal Trespass to Land, and Retail Theft. 

 

At approximately 3:45 Pm Kewanee Police went to the area of First and Burr to execute an In-State Warrant. At the scene, Kewanee Police arrested 30 year old Kevin E Galbraith of Iowa, on a Henry County Warrant for Failure to Appear in Court on original charges of DUI and Reckless Driving. 

 

At approximately 11:04 Pm on Saturday, Kewanee Police made a traffic stop in the area of Church and Tenney. In that stop,. Kewanee Police cited 24 year old Terrence L Rush of Aurora, Illinois for Operating a Vehicle with Registration Suspended Mandatory Insurance Violation. 

 

At approximately 3:24 Pm on Sunday, Kewanee Police were called to the 100 Block of Fairview Homes regarding an unwanted subject violating an order of protection. At the scene, Kewanee Police arrested 28 year old Nicholas M Sage of Kewanee on a Warren County warrant for Failure to Appear on charges of Aggravated Battery of a Peace Officer X2 and Domestic Battery. Sage was also arrested for Violation of an Order of Protection and was taken to the Henry County Jail. 

 

At approximately 7:54 Pm on Sunday night Kewanee Police were called to the 600 Block of Beach Street. At the scene Kewanee Police arrested 20 year old Lucas S Dennison of Kewanee for Domestic Battery. He was taken to the Henry County Jail. 


At approximately 5:44 Pm Kewanee Police were called to the area of the 1300 Block of Pine Street. At the scene, 58 year old Norman E Thomas of Kewanee turned himself in to Police on a Henry County Warrant for Failure to Appear in Court on a charge of a Petition to Revoke. 

 

At approximately 9:22 Pm Kewanee Police were called to the area of 9th and Main regarding a Domestic Disturbance. At the scene, Kewanee Police arrested 39 year old Michael J Mallary of Kewanee on a charge of Domestic Battery. Mallary was taken to the Henry County Jail. 


At approximately 6:20 Pm Kewanee Police made a traffic stop in the area of Prospect and Tremont. In that stop, Kewanee Police cited a 17 year old Male Driver for Driving without a License. Also cited in that stop was a 17 year old Male passenger ihe vehicle who was cited for Alcohol Consumption by a Minor. 

 

At approximately 12:14 Am on Thursday, Kewanee Police made a traffic stop in the area of West 3rd Street. In that stop, Kewanee Police cited 19 year old Julio I Fontanez of Kewanee for Driving on a Suspended License.
