Police Beat

-On Friday, March 8th at 11:03P.M. Henry County Deputy made a traffic stop on N600 Ave. in rural Kewanee.  The driver of the vehicle, Damie-Ann Kerg (age 18) of Toulon was issued a citation for operating a vehicle with no valid registration.  Kerg and 2 other passengers (Brielle Williams (age 20) of Kewanee & Lakena Jones (age 19) of Kewanee) were issued notices to appear in court for the charge of illegal transportation of alcohol.

 

-On Saturday, March 9th at 1:51A.M. Henry County Deputy attempted a traffic stop on Il. Hwy. 82 north of Cambridge.  The vehicle fled and eventually stopped on E2050 St. near Il. Hwy. 81.The driver of the vehicle, Jeremy Johnson (age 41) of Kewanee, was arrested on the charges of speeding 80/55, driving on a suspended drivers license, speeding in excess of 40mph over posted limit (110/55), failure to signal turn, aggravated fleeing or attempting to elude police, and resisting a peace officer.  Johnson was taken to the Henry County Jail.

 

-On Saturday, March 9th at 9:53P.M. Henry County Deputy made a traffic stop on Willow St. in Kewanee.  The driver of the vehicle, Stacey VanWinkle (age 34) of Kewanee, was issued a warning for having a defective windshield.  VanWinkle and a passenger (Erica Salisbury (age 40) of Kewanee) were both arrested for the charge of illegal possession of hypodermic syringes.  Both were taken to the Henry County Jail.
