At approximately 4:10 Am, Kewanee Police and Fire Department went to the 800 Block of North Burr Boulevard. At the scene, Kewanee Police and Fire found no fire at the scene and instead found a home filled with smoke due to a malfunctioning furnace. No one was hurt by the smoke.
At approximately 6:09 Am Kewanee Police went to the 900 Block of Willow Street to execute an In-State Warrant. At the scene, Kewanee Police arrested 36 year old Jamie Carrick of Kewanee on a Knox County Warrant forFailing to Appear in court on a charge of Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle. Bond was posted.
At approximately 9:41 Am on Friday, Kewanee Police made a traffic stop in the area of Beach and Division Street. In that stop, Kewanee Police arrested 31 year old Cory L Shaner of Kewanee on a charge of Driving While Revoked.
At approximately 1:14 Pm on Friday, Kewanee Police were called to the scene of an accident in the area of the 100 Block of North Main Street. At the scene, Police found an accident involving vehicles driven by 18 year old Luis U Corral-Banderas of Kewanee and 43 year old Patrick J Ruetz of Galesburg. Banderas was cited in the accident for Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident. No one was hurt in the accident.
At approximately 2:15 Pm on Friday afternoon, Kewanee Police were called to the 700 Block of Tenney Street regarding a retail theft. At the scene, Kewanee Police arrested Sandra A Murphy of Yates City on a charge of Retail Theft.
At approximately 9:13 Pm Kewanee Police made a traffic stop in the area of Main and Roosevelt. In that stop, Kewanee Police cited 41 year old Roderick A Flagg of Moline on a charge of Having No Valid Registration.
At approximately 1:20 Am on Saturday, March 2nd, Kewanee Police responded to the scene of an accident in the area of East Street South. At the scene, Kewanee Police found an accident involving 22 year old Megan A Zyla of Kewanee whose vehicle had struck a tree. Zyla was cited for Driving While Suspended, Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle, Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident and Improper Lane Usage. Report makes no mention of whether Zyla was injured in the accident.
At approximately 3:14 Am on Saturday morning Kewanee Police were called to the 200 Block of Burr Boulevard. At the scene, Kewanee Police arrested 26 year old Jimmy A Hollins of Kewanee for Violating an Order of Protection. He was taken to the Henry County Jail.
