Steven A. “Moose” Peart 64, of Annawan, formally of Kewanee, died Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at Unity Point Methodist Hospital, Peoria. He was born August 27, 1953 in Galesburg, the son of M. Daryl and Ruth (Ufheil) Peart. Steven married Gail Nelson on June 28, 1981 in Kewanee, she survives.
Also surviving include one daughter, Shannon (Scott) Youmans, Seattle, WA; two sons, Steve Peart, Bloomington, IL, Corey (Jessica) Peart, Memphis, TN; four grandchildren, Peyton, Isabel, Benjamin, and Shelby; three brothers, Kevin (Kathy) Peart, Aurora, IL, Kalvin (Diane) Peart, Kewanee, Jeff Peart, Annawan; two sisters, Darylnn Peart, Annawan, and Karen (Don) Krager, Springfield, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew, Ryan Peart.
He graduated from Kewanee High School Class of 1971. He later attended and graduated from ISU. Steven worked for Green Chevrolet in Peoria and retired from there in 2015. He was a radio sports broadcaster for WKEI for 27 years. He played baseball on the Kewanee Parkers traveling team. He enjoyed the Cubs, Bears, Illini and the Chicago Bulls. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Steven loved coaching and attending his children’s sporting events. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Kewanee.
Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 11, 2018 at the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Kewanee. Rev. Father Burnell Eckardt, Jr. Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. on Sunday, June 10, 2018 at Schueneman-Tumbleson Funeral Home, Kewanee. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Kewanee.
