Regional Daily News Sports Friday June 29th

The Chicago Cubs managed to split their 4 game series with the Los Angeles Dodgers, winning Thursday afternoon, 11 to 5. The difference was a big 7th inning wherein Anthony Rizzo hit a bases loaded double for three RBI's and Addison Russell followed with a two run homer. Sammy Sosa claims he has never used PED's and Jameis Winston of the NFL Buccaneers has been suspended.

The Chicago Cubs and Quad City River Bandits each blow leads and lose on Sunday. 

The cubs will be back in action tonight, on the road in Los Angeles against the Dodgers. Kris Bryant will not be in the lineup for the second night in a row. Game time is 9:10 Pm with pre-game beginning at 8:40 Pm on WKEI 1450 Am and 100.1 FM.

Kyle Schwarber had a home run, RBI’s from Kris Bryant and Tommy La Stella.
Jon Lester gets the victory on the mound.
The Cubs begin an 8 game road trip tonight with the first of four at Cincinnati.

The Chicago Cubs split a day night doubleheader with the Los Angeles Dodgers on Tuesday at Wrigley Field.
The Dodgers took the first game 4-3 while the Cubs took the nightcap 2-1 in ten innings.
Both clubs wrap the series in Chicago this afternoon with a  12:45 pre game live on Newstalk 1450 WKEI

It was a double whammy, rainy weather and a power outage.

The Washington Capitals won their first Stanley Cup on Thursday night as they won in Vegas topping the Golden Knights 4-3.
The Caps hit for two goals in the third period to pick up the margin of victory and then went on to celebrate Lord Stanley’s Silver Cup.
