In girls high school softball on Monday, Princeville wins the Geneseo Super-Sectional with a 8-2 victory over Pearl City while Geneseo wins the Dunlap sectional on Saturday with a 9-2 win over Pontiac.

For Annawan-Wethersield, 1st team honors to Blake Cheesman, 2nd team honors to Bryce Elias and Zeb Phillips and honorable mention to Alex Garcia

In boys high school baseball 2a sectional semifinal play on Wednesday afternoon, Macomb defeated Kewanee 4-3.Boilers with 8 hits on the afternoon and Colton Johnson had 13 srikeouts giving up just 5 hits.

In girls high school softball action on Tuesday, Geneseo defeated Dunlap 9-0 in regional semi-final action.

14 hits for the Lady Leafs led by a McKinsey Walters home run and doubles from Andrea Wagoner, Breanna Jones and Delaney Ostrowski.

 


Tuesday Sports

In girls high school track action on Saturday, the Annawan-Wethersfield Lady Titans won the state championship in the 4 x 800 meter relay.

That team comprised of Joycelyn Van Antwerp, Diana Satkauskas, Kirstie Ramsey and Olivia Draminski

In boys post season baseball on Thursday, the Kewanee Boilermakers defeated Farmington 4-3 in 8 innings, Galva topped Gardner-South Wilmington 13-1, and Ridgewood topped Princeville 7-4

In boys high school baseball post season play on Wednesday, Tremont eliminated Annawan-Wethersfield with an 8-7 victory and Henry-Senachwine eliminated the Stark County Rebels by a final of 6-3.

 


Wednesday Sports

In girls high school postseason play in 1A softball on Tuesday, Galva defeats Midland 12-2 in 5 innings to win the regional semifinal at Stark County.

Galva will now play West Central in the Regional Championship game at Stark County on Saturday morning at 11.

In the final regular season home game at Geneseo Tuesday night, the Lady Leafs slipped by Moline by a final of 1-0.

In boys post season baseball on Monday, Kewanee defeated Rowva-Williamsfield 12-4 and Annawan-Wethersfield won at Elmwood-Brimfield 3-2.

In girls softball post season action, St. Bede shuts down the Kewanee Boiler Girls 11-1 and Bureau Valley shuts out Annawan-Wethersfield 10-0.

In boys baseball action on Saturday, Ridgewood shutout Annawan-Wethersfield 3-0 while Mercer County swept Galva 5-2 and 3-1 in 8 innings.

In boys high school baseball on Thursday, Morrison defeated Annawan-Wethersfield 13-1, Illini Bluffs nipped Stark County 2-1, Galva outslugged Bushnell-Prairie City 11-9 and Ridgewood shutout Riverdale 8-0.

In girls high school softball on Thursday, Annawan-Wethersfield took two from Stark County 14-11 and 7-3, and Geneseo won at Rochelle 12-2.

In boys high school baseball on Tuesday afternoon, Stark County defeated Annawan-Wethersfield 9-2. Bryce Knowles picks up the victory on the mound for the Rebels while Alex Garcia takes the loss for the Titans.

In boys high school baseball on Monday, Genseo defeated Quincy 1-0, Erie-Prophetstown shutout Eastland 3-0 and Rowva-Williamsfield defeated United 3-1.

In girls softball on Monday, Riverdale defeated Fulton 11-1, Morrison shuiout Bureau Valley 16-0 and Sterling nipped Rockridge 1-0

In boys high school baseball on Saturday, Mercer County took two from Stark County 9-1 and 11-2 and in girls high school softball on Saturday Morris topped Geneseo 7-2

In boys high school baseball on Thursday, Annawan-Wethersfield shutout Galva 2-0 as Zeb Phillips tosses a 3 hitter to pick up the victory.

Mercer County takes over the lead in the LIncoln Trail Conference with a 7-0 shutout over Ridgewood and Rowva-Williamsfield won at Toulon with a 9-4 victory over Stark County. 

In girls high school softball on Thursday, Galva defeated Annawan-Wethersfield 7-0 as Payton Weston tosses a two hit shutout for the Lady Cats, Geneseo defeated Kaneland 2-1 behind the hitting and defense of Maddy Shoemaker and the pitching of Andrea Wagoner, and  Rockridge moved to 23-2 on the seaon by shutting out Sherrard 9-0.

In boys high school baseball on Wednesday, Orion defeated Bureau Valley 4-2 and in girls high school softball, Rockridge moved to 22-2 on the season with a 13-7 victory over Rock Falls.

In boys high school baseball action on Tuesday, Galva shutout Annawan-Wethersfield 4-0, Stark County won at Rowva-williamsfield 10-3 and Mercer County nipped Ridgewood 1-0.

In girls high school softball, Kewanee topped Riverdale 7-5, Galva shutout Annawan-Wwethersfield 5-0 and Geneseo won at LaSalle-Peru 7-6

In girls high school softball on Monday, the Kewanee Boiler Girls would load the bases in the first but scored only one run as Sterling Newman topped the Boiler Girls 10-1.

 

In boys baseball on Monday, Monmouth-Roseville shutout Stark County 8-0,

Ridgewood took two from West Central 9-0 and 6-3, while Brimfiled downed Galva 9-6
