Video of a five year old girl in a Chicago suburb being charged by a coyote has people talking. The young girl was playing in her front yard in Villa Park when the coyote circled around her and then charged at her as she ran away. The animal didn’t bite her or knock her down but did come very close to her. Rachel Torbert with Illinois Department of Natural Resources says urban coyotes are not unusual and you should be prepared if you encounter one.

Torbert says homeowners need to be sure to keep food sources away from wildlife including not tossing table scraps out in the yard and making sure trash cans are secure. See the video below courtesy of Inside Edition
