Summer in most of Illinois will go down as wetter than normal. But if you live in western Illinois or around north central Illinois you may disagree. State Climatologist Jim Angel says statewide rainfall totals for June, July and August came in above average.

Recent rains have helped ease drought concerns for most but a lack of rain in places left its mark on crop yields and dry pastures for cattle farmers.
