JACKtivites for January 20th Part 2

Disney's FREAKY FRIDAY will be playing at the Circa ’21 Dinner Playhouse in Rock Island. The play starts at 5:45pm with various dates in January, February, and March. When an overworked mother and her teenage daughter magically swap bodies, they have just 24 hours before Mom’s big wedding to put things right again. Freaky Friday, a new musical comedy based on the celebrated novel by Mary Rodgers and the hit Disney films, is a hilarious, contemporary update of the classic story, in which a mother and daughter see what it means to be a family while experiencing each other’s lives firsthand, if only for a day. Set in the present day, Freaky Friday features a tuneful pop-rock score, befitting a work that has effortlessly updated throughout its several iterations. Warmhearted, humorous and touching, this fresh take on the classic story is perfect for family audiences of all ages.

JACKtivites for January 1st Part 2

The German American Heritage Center (GAHC) and the Creative Arts Academy (CAA) have once again teamed up to bring an exciting project and exhibit to the Quad Cities. The students have been crafting the professional museum exhibit since late August and are excited to unveil this year's exhibit “A Look in the Toy Chest: Toys Through Time”. The exhibit will be open at the German American Heritage Center, 712 West 2nd Street in Davenport, Iowa, from November 11, 2017, to January 7, 2018.

This exhibit focuses on the evolution of play through the decades, and the toys that defined the eras. From 1900 to present day, see what toys made it to the list as the most important and defining of that decade. Maybe your favorite toy made the list?

The entirety of the exhibit, from concept to installation, is completely student-driven. See the hard work and creativity of local students in creating their project for the public!
