ELF the Musical will be playing at the Circa '21 Dinner Playhouse on 3rd Avenue in Rock Island tomorrow starting at 5:45pm. Buddy, a young orphan, mistakenly crawls into Santa’s bag of gifts and is transported to the North Pole. The would-be elf is raised, unaware that he is actually a human until his enormous size and poor toy-making abilities cause him to face the truth. With Santa’s permission, Buddy embarks on a journey to New York City to find his birth father and discover his true identity. Faced with the harsh realities that his father is on the naughty list and his half-brother doesn’t even believe in Santa, Buddy is determined to win over his new family and help New York remember the true meaning of Christmas. This modern-day holiday classic is sure to make everyone embrace their inner elf.

(Davenport, IA) - Moeller Nights is gearing up to host the second semi-annual GAS Feed & Seed Festival this weekend! The Village of East Davenport will welcome over 30 nationally touring artists for the 4-day festival. Performances will take place at Baked Beer & Bread Co. and the Village Theatre, with V.I.P. performances at Triple Crown Whiskey Bar & Raccoon Motel.
The festival kicks off Thursday night with a family style dinner served for both artist and festival attendees. Although this isn’t the norm for most festivals, Moeller Nights isn’t aiming to create another run of the mill experience. Nationally touring artists LOLO, Sarah Jaffe, Cory Chisel, Okey Dokey, Izaak Opatz and many more will spend the majority of the festival weekend mingling amongst the crowd. Close-knit festivals, like GAS, give artists an opportunity to connect both with their audience and one another.
“This festival aims to be my mini version of a SXSW offering, where the fun of it is discovery and seeing artists you’ve never seen or heard of before and then watching as certain artists break out from the pack,” Moeller Nights’ Sean Moeller said. “It’s so much fun to stumble onto surprises and little gems that you would never have sought out on your own. It’s my favorite thing and these are some of my favorite young bands.”
In an effort to get festival goers ready for the jam-packed weekend, Moeller Nights has released a day-by-day schedule along with both a Youtube and Spotify playlist. Under the artist's listings on the Moeller Nights site, are hand-crafted RIYLs (recommended if you like) for those who like to know what they’re diving into.
Moeller Nights hosted the first GAS Feed & Seed festival earlier this year in February. The goal of GAS Feed & Seed is to have unique festivals that serve as bookends to the calendar year, giving patrons a reason to get up, get out and fall in love (or like) with new artists during the cold weather months.
The full GAS Feed & Seed line-up and a variety of ticket options are available at moellernights.com. Follow Moeller Nights on Facebook and Instagram for more information and upcoming shows.

Davenport Central High School’s Blue Devil Productions to present “Next to Normal” Nov. 3, 4, and 5;
Pulitzer Prize winning musical is first to be performed at Davenport Central’s Performing Arts Center
Davenport, Iowa – Blue Devil Productions will present the Pulitzer Prize winning musical “Next to Normal” Friday, Nov. 3 (7 p.m.), Saturday, Nov. 4 (7 p.m.) and Sunday, Nov. 5 (2 p.m.) at Davenport Central High School’s new Performing Arts Center (1120 Main St., Davenport). Focused on a woman living with mental illness and its impact on her family, “Next to Normal” won the 2010 Pulitzer Prize for Drama and numerous Tony Awards following its 2008 debut. Tickets may be purchased online at https://dchsdi.booktix.com or at the door for $13.50 (adults) and $11.50 (seniors and students).
Please note: “Next to Normal” addresses grief, suicide, drug abuse and other mature themes. The script includes coarse language and references to sex and drug use. While some aspects of these themes have been minimized for a high school production, audience discretion is advised.
The story is centered on Dianna Goodman, a woman who struggles with bipolar disorder, and the effect of her illness and its treatment on relationships within her family. Significant themes include the challenges of modern suburban life, suicide, grief, drug abuse, and ethics in modern psychiatry.
“Next to Normal” will be the first musical to be performed at Davenport Central’s Performing Arts Center. The Blue Devil Productions cast, directed by Thea IntVeld, will feature:
Peyton Reese: Dianna Goodman (mother)
Jeremy Weinstein: Dan Goodman (father)
Joe Lasher: Gabriel Goodman (son)
Nichole Maitlen: Natalie Goodman (daughter)
Sam Fahrenkrug: Henry (classmate)
Lucas Thompson: Dr. Fine / Dr. Madden (psychiatrist)
