Moline Police Announce the Arrest of a Latin Kings Gang Member on Weapons Charges

Moline Police have announced the arrest of a documented member of the dangerous Latin Kings Street Gang. According to a release from Moline Police, 20 year old Maycol J Lopez Miller following a lengthy investigation into a Moline residence believed to have been a hub of illegal gang activities. At approximately 5:38 Pm on Thursday, May 2nd, Moline Police observed Lopez-Miller leaving the surveilled residence with a weapon. As a known gang member at the time of his arrest, Lopez-Miller stands charged with Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a Street Gang Member. Lopez-Miler is being held at the Rock Island County Jail on a $50,000 bond. The investigation into the residence remains ongoing and no other information is being made available at this time. Bettendorf Iowa Firefighters Fight Fire in 4 Foot High Flood Water

Firefighters in Bettendorf, Iowa braved 4 feet of flood water to battle a structure fire early Wednesday morning. According to the City of Bettendorf, the fire occurred in a detached garage next to a home in the area of 24789 179th Street in Bettendorf. The only way to access the fire was via Zodiac Boat and once there, firefighters exited the boat and worked to protect the home next door to the garage. No one was hurt and the home was protected from serious damage while the garage was unsalvageable. Rock Island Arsenal and Riverdale Firefighters aided Bettendorf Firefighters in this remarkable effort and the residents of the home are safe and have been referred to the Red Cross of the Quad Cities for further assistance.
