One of Moline's most wanted was arrested by Moline Police on Thursday. According to a release from the Moline Police Department, 28 year old Jason D Kenney of Moline was apprehended just before 7:30 Am on Thursday morning. Per the narrative by Moline Police, Kenney was observed on the street in the 3400 Block of 19th Avenue when he was spotted by a Moline Police Detective. The detective attempted to initiate an arrest of Kenney based off of a previously issued Felony warrant however, when Police approached, Kenney attempted to flee on foot. Kenney was eventually taken into custody in the area of 1900 Block of 35th Street in Moline. Kenney was found to be in possession of a revolver with serial number removed and several different types of Illegal Narcotics. Kenney was taken to the Rock Island County Jail and charged with Aggravated Unlawful Use of Weapons, Armed Violence, Possession with Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance, Resisting A Peace Officer as well as the outstanding warrant for Aggravated Fleeing/Eluding a Peace Officer. The warrant had been issued on August 23rd by the Rock Island County Sheriff’s Department for a case that originated out of the Rock Island Police Department. Detectives will review the case tomorrow with the Rock Island County State’s Attorney’s office for formal charges. The arrest of Kenney took place near several Moline schools which were informed about the arrest but the incident was resolved before necessitating a lockdown. No students were endangered during the arrest.
