Moline High School and Seton Catholic School were placed on a brief lockdown this morning just after 8:30 Am. According to a release from the Moline Police Department, officers responded to the area of 1900 Block of 12th Street following a call to 911 that stated a male suspect was threatening the mother of his child with a handgun. As police arrived on the scene two men appeared to exit a car and begin a foot chase near the intersection of 12th and 19th street. Police were later able to catch up with 19 year old Freddie M. Bass of Cordova, Illinois and arrest him for Aggravated Unlawful Use of Weapons. The other suspect who fled from police was also captured but was determined by investigators to not have been involved in the initial assault. Moline High School and Seton Catholic School were placed on lockdown as a precaution because the suspect was so near each of the schools but neither school was under a direct threat.
