A Davenport man is under arrest on charges related to Burglary at a residence in Davenport. According to Davenport Police, 29 year old Bryant Downing of Davenport was arrested on Thursday night when he was found in the parking lot of McKinley Elementary School in the immediate aftermath of a break in nearby. It's alleged that Downing had broken into a home wearing a mask, a hooded sweatshirt and a backpack containing a baseball bat and .50 calibur handgun. When Downing was confronted by a resident of the home he fled, taking a purse and wallet with cash and credit cards. Downing was picked just yards away from the home that was robbed and wearing the same hooded sweatshirt, carrying the same backpack as the reported suspect. Downey stands charged with 1st Degree Burglary, 2 counts of 3rd Degree Burglary of a Motor Vehicle, Felon in Possession of a Firearm and Carrying a Firearm on School Grounds. Downey was arrested and taken to the Scott County Jail where he remains in custody on a $39,000 bond.
