Arkansas vice chancellor and director of athletics Jeff Long will serve as the first chairman of the College Football Playoff selection committee. Long, a four-year football letterman at Ohio Wesleyan, became the director of Razorback athletics in 2008. He has spent more than two decades in athletic administration at schools such as Oklahoma, Michigan, Virginia Tech and Eastern Kentucky. The committee will pick the four teams to play in the national semifinals. The winners will play about a week later for the national championship.
