Cardinals Pound Pirates

Matt Carpenter and Carlos Beltran hit consecutive home runs to start the bottom of the first inning as the Cardinals picked up a 9-1 win over the Pirates.  Beltran finished with two homers, helping St. Louis win its fourth straight.  Jonathan Sanchez was ejected after hitting Allen Craig with a pitch on the shoulder in the first.  Pirates Manager Clint Hurdle went too, after arguing on behalf of his pitcher.  Sparks continued flying as Lance Lynn hit Starling Marte on the hand in third and again in the fifth.  Pirates hitting coach Jay Bell was tossed for comments he made after Marte was drilled the second time.  Lynn pitched seven innings of one-run ball improving to 4-and-0 with the win.  Sanchez took the loss dropping to 0-and-3, ending a three-game win-streak for Pittsburgh.
