Former Chargers, Bills DE Merriman Announces Retirement

NFL defensive end Shawne Merriman is calling it a career. The former San Diego Chargers and Buffalo Bills standout had 17 tackles in 10 games last season. He was selected 12th-overall by San Diego in the 2005 NFL Draft out of Maryland. The 28-year-old had 257 tackles and 45-and-a-half sacks with one interception in 75 career games.
