They "Chopped Until They Dropped", at the 59th Annual Kewanee Hog Days over Labor Day Weekend 2012. From the 30,000-some pork chops that were served, to the carnival rides, to the entertainment on stage, and so much more, fun was had by all.
Sadly, the 2012 Hog Days Parade had to be cancelled due to the impending remnants of Hurricane Isaac. It is believed to be the first-time the parade has ever been cancelled.
In the 1st annual Hogg Country 102.5 WJRE Texaco Country Showdown competition, Kewanee's own Missy Vail was judged the winner. Amy Jo Potter, of Indiana, was the 1st runner-up. The Showdown was held on the Peoples National Bank Main Stage on Sunday, September 2. Missy advances to the Missouri State Final to be held on Saturday, September 15 at the Townsquare Ampitheatre in Branson.

The 33rd annual Hogg Country 102.5 WJRE Hog Days Pet Show was held Sunday afternoon in downtown Kewanee for Hog Days. Winner this year include, Prettiest Cutest Pet went to Sarah Norman with Poof, Best Trick to Claire and Olivia with their dog Reilly, Most Unusual Pet to Shaylee with Felony Melanie (a ferret), Prettiest Cutest Cat to Sasha Norman with her cat Zero, Prettiest Cutest Dog award to Chelsea & Jessica with Jasmine, Best Dressed Pet to Neeva Baney with Magie, and the judges award went to Joy Hernandez with Remy.
