Thomas “Tommy” W. VerVynck, 41, of Kewanee, died Saturday, February 10, 2018 in Kewanee. Tommy was born March 19, 1976 in Kewanee, the son of Walt and Paula (Titus) VerVynck. Tommy attended Kewanee High School. He married Jamie Weir on January 6, 2017 in Kewanee.
Tommy is survived by his parents; wife; sons, Austin VerVynck, Davenport, IA, Alan (Kelly Mullen) VerVynck, Sterling, IL, Connor VerVynck, Hurley, MS; step children, Chelsea Ainley, Brandon Ainley, Myranda Lambert, Drew Richardson; special nephew, Reece Weir; brother, Joseph VerVynck; sisters, Misty (Jason) Patterson, Darcy (Dana Jackson) McCommons; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents and brother, Scott VerVynck.
Tommy was a highly skilled laborer and roofer, he worked for his father at Walt VerVynck Roofing prior to working for Murray Brothers Construction, Kewanee. Tommy was a member of the Allendale Conservation Club and the First Christian Church. He was an active Harley Rider and recently joined the Spoon River Riders. He loved going to Friday night football at Kewanee High School where he watched his boys play. He enjoyed golf cart mudding, playing pool, and singing karaoke, especially Metallica with his brother, Joey. He loved watching Nascar and enjoyed racing stock cars. No one could ever get enough of Tommy’s cooking. Tommy had a big heart and loved spending time with his family and friends.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on Thursday, February 15, 2018 at Schueneman-Tumbleson Funeral Home. Burial will be at Pleasant View Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00 am until the time of service on Thursday, February 15, 2018. Memorials may be made to the family.
