Edmond “Ed” DeMuynck, 85, of Kewanee, died at 1:20 p.m. on Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at Kewanee Care Nursing Home.
Ed was born February 18, 1932 in Rock Island, IL, the son of Evo and Matilda (DeBuscher) DeMuynck. He married Patricia Ackerson on March 24, 1956 in Annawan. She preceded him in death on February 27, 1998.
Surviving are his three daughters, Clarice (Lalo) Lorden, Chicago, Suzanne (Victor) Diaz, Peoria, Mary (Henry), Kewanee; four sons, Jimmy (Debbra) DeMuynck, Spring Valley, Gilbert (Tara) DeMuynck, Mineral, Edwin DeMuynck, Lawrenceville, IL, Tony (Lorie) DeMuynck, Elmira, Terry Pearson, Quincy, IL. Also surviving are 21 grandchildren and 42 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Patricia; one brother; one sister and three grandchildren in infancy.
Edmond worked construction in Geneseo, the Grain Mill in Mineral and Pines Trailer in Kewanee, and also he ran his own landscape company in Kewanee.
He was a member of the Geneseo Moose Lodge where he played on their baseball team and a member of the Flemish American Club, Kewanee. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and loved western dancing.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 am Monday, January 29, 2018, at Schueneman-Tumbleson Funeral Home, Kewanee. Pastor Dan Craig will officiate. Visitation will be from 4-6 pm on Sunday, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Grandview Cemetery, rural Atkinson. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
