Thershea Marie (Barkley) Warren, 92, of Cuba, IL formerly of Wyanet and Kewanee, IL, died Sunday, September 24, 2017 at the Clayberg Nursing Home, Cuba, IL. Thershea was born September 6, 1925 in Wyanet, IL the daughter of Calvin and Pearl (Johnson) Barkley. She graduated from Wyanet High School. Thershea married Junior Crist in 1943, he died in WWII in 1944. She then married Joseph Warren in 1949 he preceded her in death on September 14, 1999.
Thershea is also survived by three daughters, Sandra (Douglas) Milby, Toulon, IL, Janet (Carl) McMillian, Cuba, IL, Tina Lindsey, Canton, IL; one son, Clinton (Roseann) Warren, Geneseo, IL; two brothers, Arnold “Jim” Barkley, Peoria, IL, Bernard “Bunk” Barkely, Washington, IL; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; three sons, Arthur Warren, Kenneth Crossley, Richard J. Warren; one sister, Judith Young; and three brothers, John Barkley, Gerald Barkley and Donald Rhea.
Thershea worked at the Kraft Cheese factory in Manlius, IL for a number of years. She was also a member of the Bunker Hill Church of God. Thershea and Joseph had many foster children through the years. She enjoyed crocheting and cooking; she will always be remembered for her excellent goulash. She also loved spending time with her family.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 am, Friday, September 29, 2017 at the Schueneman-Tumbleson Funeral Home, Kewanee. Pastor John Erickson will officiate. Burial will be in the Mt. Bloom Cemetery, Tiskilwa. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the US Department of Veterans Affairs.
