Maxine E. Evans, 79, of Cambridge, died Thursday, August 31, 2017, at Marigold Rehabilitation & Health Care, Galesburg. Cremation has been accorded and a memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 8th, at the First Baptist Church of Cambridge. Rev.. Todd Smith will officiate. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Cambridge Chapel of Stackhouse-Moore Funeral & Cremation Services. Memorials may be made to The Alzheimer's Association.
Maxine Elizabeth Stewart was born April 5, 1938 in Hillsdale, the daughter of Fred and Dorthea Mickaelson Stewart. She attended grade school in Hillsdale and graduated from Hillsdale High School in 1955. Her marriage to Daniel Evans took place on June 23, 1956 in Hillsdale.
She was the owner/operator of the Broken Wheel Restaurant in Cambridge for ten years. Maxine was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cambridge. She enjoyed riding motorcycles, camping, and waterskiing. Her first love was the river.
Those surviving are her husband, Dan, a daughters and a son-in-law, Terry and Dale Allen, Cambridge, Vickie Vicevich, Green City, Missouri, sons and daughters-in-law, Steve and Dawn Evans, Cambridge, Todd and Dee Evans, Geneseo, seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Other survivors include a brother, Bill Stewart, Hillsdale, and a sister, Arlene Misfeldt, Geneseo. Her parents, a brother, Richard, and a son-in-law, Sam Vicevich preceded her in death.
