Kevin T. Burnett, 64, of Galva, died at 4:15 p.m., Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Sunday, August 27 at Rux Funeral Home in Galva. Rev. Martin Gutzmer will officiate. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Saturday, August 26at the funeral home. Galva Fusiliers will render salute. Burial will be in Galva Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Kevin Burnett Memorial Fund.
He was born November 18, 1952 in Kewanee, the son of Edgar A. and Bernice (Kelly) Burnett. He married Debra C. “Debbie” Heggwood on June 23, 1972. She survives of Galva, as do three daughters, Brandie (Larry) Comer of Orion, IL, Courtney (Rudy) Almanza of Rock Island and Devin (Evan) Weaver of Milan, two brothers, Gary (Jean) Burnett of Galesburg and Kent (Sara) Burnett of Etoile, TX, two sisters, Dottie Cook of Galesburg and Sandy (George) Dyer of Flower Mound, TX, eight grandchildren, Meghan, Sarah, Anne, Victoria, Isaac, Kaylee, Ty and Karine, three great grandchildren, Alex, Logan and Carter and a special daughter, Laura Bay of Byron, GA. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Edgar, Jack and William.
Kevin graduated from Galva High School in 1970. He had worked as a crane operator for Butler Mfg. in Galesburg. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Galva, Valley View Country Club in Cambridge and an honorary member of the Galva Fusiliers. He was an avid Chicago Cubs and Bears fan and enjoyed bowling and had been inducted into the Galva Bowling Association.
