Harry A. “Jr.” Lempke, 82 of Kewanee died Saturday 16, 2013 at his home. Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Pleasant View Cemetery with the Rev. Joe Schmidt officiating. Graveside Military Rites will be accorded by the Kewanee Veterans Council, the Schueneman Tumbleson Funeral Home Kewanee is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be directed to Kewanee Humane Society.
Harry was born May 11, 1930 in Kewanee son of Harry and Gertrude (Golden) Lempke. He was educated in Neponset schools. He married Shirley Walton July 3, 1954 in Kewanee. She survives, as well as one son Allen (Barbara) Lempke also of Kewanee. One grandson Jared, also of Kewanee. He was preceded in death by both of his parents, 2 brothers, and one sister.
Jr. was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving his country in Korea from 1951 through 1953. He worked for many years as a truck driver, last working for Carlson Trucking from which he retired.
Jr. enjoyed watching John Wayne movies, fishing, and reading and spending time with his family and friends, and also spending time with his grandson Jared.
