KEWANEE - Lois Mae Hulslander, 77, of Kewanee, passed away at 3:00 PM, Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at the Kewanee Care Home.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM, Monday, August 11 at Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee. Rev. Dr. Dale Dykstra will officiate. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 PM, Sunday, August 10 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Wethersfield Cemetery in Kewanee. Memorials may be directed to the family for a memorial to be established.
She was born January 22, 1937 in Kewanee, the daughter of Louis and Jennie (Hadsall) Golden. She married James Hulslander on June 3, 1956 in Kewanee. He survives, as do three sons, Wayne (Lynette) Hulslander, Tim (Tina) Hulslander and David (Theresa) Hulslander, all of Kewanee, five daughters, Brenda (Donald) Peterson of Princeville and Rose (Phillip) Ainley, Tammy Hulslander (Elmer), Marcia Hulslander and Vanessa Hulslander, all of Kewanee, fourteen grandchildren, Erick, Brian and Joshua Ainley, Donald Jr. and Cody Peterson, Andrew and Holden Hulslander, Shannon Hamrick, Makayla, Abigayle, Treavor, Bristol and Parker Hulslander and Tyler Hulslander, three great grandchildren, Carter Peterson, Adrianna McDaniel and Kenzleigh Hulslander, two brothers, James (Pat) Golden of Andalusia, IL and Richard (Ina) Golden of Cambridge, her sister, Judy (Willard) Harland of Princeville, a sister-in-law, Millie Golden of Bradford and her grand-dogs, Wrigley and Clark. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Ronald Golden and a grandson, Aaron Ainley.
Lois graduated from Wethersfield High School. She worked for Tri-County News Agency for 30 years. She thoroughly enjoyed playing bingo, quilting, sewing and attending her grandchildren’s sporting events. This obituary may be viewed and private condolences left at www.ruxfuneralhome.com
