KEWANEE - Dorothy H. “Snooks” “Grama Foo Foo” Dybdal, 85, of Kewanee, died at 7:35 PM, Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at her home.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, May 24 at Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee. Deacon Martin VanMeltebeck will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or to the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America.
She was born March 21, 1929 in Kewanee, the daughter of Vincent “Vince” and Mary (Tomsic) Ostrowski Sr. She had previously been married to John Thurman and Milo Sturm and later married Keith W. “Dib” Dybdal on July 12, 1966 in Nashville, TN and he preceded her in death on January 15, 1995. Survivors include her daughter, Linda (Terry) Bryner of Kewanee, two step-sons, Robert and John, five step-daughters, Pat, Sue, Jane, Diane and Jackie, two brothers, Joe Ostrowski and Ed (Connie) Ostrowski, both of Kewanee, two grandchildren, Terry M. Bryner and Tim (Trisha) Bryner, two great-great grandchildren, Logan and Kara Bryner and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents, grandson, Troy Mark Bryner, a brother, Vince Ostrowski Jr. and a sister, Dolores Kermeen.
Dorothy had worked at Harper Wyman and then at Empire Clothing. She was of the Catholic faith and was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed doing housecleaning for herself and for others and also enjoyed gardening. Her greatest love was her family.
