Kathryn Arlene Leonard, 94, of Galesburg, Il. and formerly of Kewanee died at 2:45 P.M. Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at her home. Kathryn was born February 16, 1920 in Kewanee the daughter of Chester and Charlotte (Peart) Parker. She graduated from Annawan High School in 1938. Kathryn married Lawrence C. Leonard on August 30, 1942 at the Fairview United Methodist Church rural Annawan. He preceded her in death on November 27, 1995. She was also preceded in death by her three daughters and one son-in-law, Linda Craig, Nancy and Loren Ouart and Sandra Treash, grandson Chad Craig, two brothers and three sisters. Surviving are son-in-law Joe (Kathy) Craig, grandchildren Jill, Carin, John, David, Curt, Crystal and Cheyanne (Chad), twelve great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. Several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Kathryn was a homemaker. She was a member of the Fairview United Methodist Church and the Fairview United Women. She loved horses and was a member of the Bradford and Kewanee Trail Riding Clubs. While her girls were growing up she was active as a Girl Scout and 4-H Leader. She enjoyed reading, gardening and sewing, crocheting and collecting barns, spending time with her grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at the Fairview United Methodist Church, rural Annawan. Rev. Dan Wright will officiate. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-6 P.M. Monday, February 24th at the Schueneman-Tumbleson Funeral Home, Kewanee, Il. Memorials may be directed to Fairview Church.
