Maxine Ann DeCrane

Maxine Ann DeCrane, 76, of Geneseo passed away Monday, February 17, 2014 at Good Samaritan Village, Geneseo. A funeral service celebrating Maxine’s life will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday February 22 at Vandemore Funeral Home, Geneseo. Rev. Chris Ritter will officiate. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery, Geneseo. Visitation for Maxine will be from 4-7 pm on Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be left to the Maxine A. DeCrane Memorial Fund to be distributed to several charitable organizations.

Maxine was born March 30, 1937 in Liberty, South Carolina, the daughter of Harry L. and Lou Ivera (Brewer) Swaynghame . She was united in marriage to David DeCrane on August 20, 1960 in Greenville, South Carolina and was a homemaker in her own home. Maxine belonged to the First United Methodist Church in Geneseo.

Survivors include her husband: David of Geneseo; son Dave (Christine) DeCrane, Jr. of Coal Valley, IL; daughter: Kimberly (Mark) Wigant of Charleston, SC; 5 grandchildren: Derek DeCrane, Joshua, Alexander, Tristan, and Samantha Wigant; 1 great grandchild: Dylan DeCrane; and 2 sisters: Edith Lindsey and Mickie Williams both of Greenville, South Carolina.

Maxine was preceded in death by her parents, 1 brother, and 2 sisters.
