Wyoming – Michael C. Holmes, 49, of Wyoming, passed away on Friday, February 14, 2014, in the emergency room at Kewanee Hospital.
Mike was born May 19, 1964, in Kewanee, the son of Richard and Joyce M. Camp Holmes. He married Trudy Frisby on February 18, 1995, in Wyoming. She survives.
Also surviving are his mother, Joyce Holmes of Wyoming; two daughters, Jessica (Philip) Seiwell of Stark, and April (Brandon Sies) Hall of Wyoming; one grandson, Braxton Sies; one sister, Michelle Holmes of Iowa; mother-in-law, Pat Frisby of Wyoming; nieces and nephews, Zach, Holly, Dustin, Cody, Tyler, Derrick, Jennifer, Heather, Courtney, and Kylee; 5 great nieces and nephews; two uncles, Steve Pettit of Princeville, and Phil Pettit of Florida; and a very close family friend, Deanna Christian. His father preceded him in death.
Mike was a seasonal snowbird worker for IDOT, who has been with the winter operations team since November of 2007. He also was a seasonal summer worker at Roanoke Concrete and previously Stahl Ready Mix. He was a member of the Wyoming Masonic Lodge #479 AF&AM, and Fort Defiance Gun Range Club.
Mike enjoyed arrowhead hunting, camping, and riding his motorcycle. He loved his entire family and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Cremation has been accorded and a graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. at Wyoming Cemetery on Friday, February 21, 2014. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wyoming Fire Department, Wyoming American Legion Post #91, or Wyoming Masonic Lodge #479 AF&AM.
