Karen L. Knapp, 71, of Princeville, passed away at 10:40 p.m. Friday, October 18, 2013, at her home.She was born on July 3, 1942, in Burlington, IA., the daughter of Robert and Dorthea Horn Kurtz. She married Richard Knapp on October 14, 1961, in Burlington, IA. He survives.
Karen is survived by her two daughters, Tracey (Maurice) Moushon of Peoria, and Debbie (Matt) Lamb of Glasford; two grandchildren, Chelsea and Evan; one brother, Wayne (Nancy) Kurtz of Millington, TN.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her step-father, Robert F. Smith.
Karen was employed as a bookkeeper at Seven Oaks Child Development Center from 1981 to 1999 and later at Dunlap Motors. She was also an active member of the ladies auxiliary for the Princeville Fire Department, and her most recent work was as a volunteer at Princeville’s Heritage Museum.
She enjoyed camping, square dancing, crafts and watching NASCAR.

Funeral services will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, October 21, 2013, at Haskell-Hott Funeral Homes in Princeville. Pastor Dave Bucknam and Rick Rogy will officiate. Visitation will be held from 4:30-6:30 p.m. on Monday, at the funeral home. Cremation will be accorded after the services and burial of ashes will be at a later date.
