Jacob Michael “Cakes” Grabbe, 21, of Galva, Il. died at 2:19 P.M. Monday, August 26, 2013. Jacob was born September 2, 1991 in Kewanee, Il. the son of Don and Lauri (Stewart) Grabbe. He graduated from Kewanee High School in 2010 where he was a member of the football team and FFA chapter.
Jacob was attending culinary school at Scott Community College in Bettendorf, Ia and was employed at Beck’s South in Kewanee and as a cook at Courtyard Village in Kewanee.
Surviving are his father Don Grabbe of Kewanee, his mother Lauri (Richard) Cochran of Toulon, Il., one sister Erica Grabbe of Kewanee, two stepsisters Brooke Cochran a student at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Ok. and Abbey Ferguson of Pekin, his maternal grandmother Virginia Grabbe of Kewanee, his girlfriend Beverly Scott of Galva, aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather Theodore Grabbe and his maternal grandparents Jack and Ardyth Stewart and Jack and Sharon Sizemore.
Jacob will be remembered for his love of cooking, the St. Louis Rams Football team and his pet python Patty. Jacob loved life and especially enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a friend to all.
Cremation was accorded. A celebration of his life will be held at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at the Schueneman-Tumbleson Funeral Home, Kewanee, Il. Pastor Dan Craig will officiate. Inurnment will be in the Pleasant View Cemetery, Kewanee. Visitation will be from 5-7 P.M. Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
