Lynn H. Misfeldt, 64, of Geneseo passed away unexpectedly, Tuesday, April 30, 2013 on arrival to the Midwest Medical Center in Galena, IL. He had been doing one of the things he loved, riding his motorcycle. Funeral Services celebrating his life will be held 10:30 AM Saturday, May 4, 2013 at Concordia Lutheran Church, Geneseo. Rev. Stephen Mueller will officiate. Burial will follow in North Cemetery, Geneseo where military rites will be accorded by the Don Cherry VFW Post 5083. Visitation for Lynn will be held 4-8 PM Friday at Vandemore Funeral Home in Geneseo. Memorials may be left to Concordia Lutheran Church.
Our Savior Jesus Christ has destroyed death and brought life and immortality to light through the Gospel. Let us remember with thanksgiving what God has done through His servant Lynn.
Lynn was born December 18, 1948 in Geneseo, IL the son of Harvey and Hazel (Klavon) Misfeldt. On January 16, 1949 he received the gift of Holy Baptism and became a child of God. On April 28, 1963 he publicly confessed his faith and was confirmed. He was a 1967 graduate of Geneseo High School. Lynn served his country proudly in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War during the years 1968-1971. He was united in marriage to Lynn C. Anderson on August 4, 1973 in LaGrange, IL. Lynn worked as a foreman for 15 years for Morton Building Inc. in Atkinson and then took a position at the Rock Island Arsenal where he worked for 27 years in Contracting and Project Management, retiring in 2011.
Lynn belonged to Concordia Lutheran Church where he served as a Deacon and enjoyed singing in the choir. He was an active member of the Geneseo Lions Club. He enjoyed fishing and woodworking. He was also an avid Green Machine Fan, enjoyed riding his motorcycle, and loved spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife: Lynn; 2 sons: Eric (Kristina) Misfeldt of Hopedale, IL and Kyle (Terri) Misfeldt of Macomb, IL; 1 daughter: Janea (Matthew) Oaks of Round Rock, TX; 7 grandchildren: Drake, Eleanor, Zane, Eliana, Kysen, Xayden, and Ainsleigh; 3 sisters: Vicki (Bob) Collins of Geneseo; Sandra Dickens of High Springs, FL and Cheryl (Dennis) Loenser of Geneseo.
Lynn was preceded in death by his parents.
