Daniel Murl “Danny” Sapp, 80, of Kewanee, Il. died at 12:45 P.M. Thursday, April 11, 2013 at his home.
Daniel was born July 31, 1932 in Jacksonville, Il. the son of Fonzie and Evelyn (Jackson) Sapp. The family moved frequently and Danny attended a number of schools in Illinois.
He first married Betty Bourquin. They were later divorced. He then married Ann Mae Harvey-Ensley on July 18, 1990 in Columbia, Ky. She survives along with five sons Jeff (Vicki) Sapp, Danny Joe (Kathy) Sapp, Todd (Tammy) Sapp, Brian Sapp and Shannon Sapp all of Pekin, Il. five daughters Penny (Dan) Meixsell, Patty (Jeff) Schaefer, Shawna (Jason) Erxleben, Robyn (Jeff) Teuscher and Danise (Clifford) Brandt all of Pekin, Il., 31 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren, two step sons Wayne W. (Kathy) Ensley of Wataga, Il., Jim (Michelle) Ensley of Kewanee and one sister Louella (Kenney) Currier of Yorkville, Il..
Danny was preceded in death by his parents, one son Timothy Sapp, a sister Shirley and a step son Barry Lee Ensley.
Danny was employed as chief mechanic at Jack Hymbaugh Chevrolet in Pekin and later worked for twenty years at Caterpillar in Peoria prior to his retirement. Danny was a member of the National Rifle Association. He was an avid hunter and also enjoyed fishing, NASCAR and spending time with his family and friends.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, April 16, 2013 at the Schueneman-Tumbleson Funeral Home, Kewanee, Il. Elder Bill Currier of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints will officiate. Visitation will be from 5-7 P.M., Monday, April 15 at the funeral home. Burial will be private. Memorials may be directed to Ducks Unlimited.
