Opal “Lucille” Bridgewater McKeever, 95, formerly of Princeville and Kewanee, passed at 4:18 AM, Saturday, April 6, 2013 at Heritage Manor in Chillicothe.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, April 12 at Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Burial will be at Evergreen Memory Gardens in rural Kewanee. Memorials may be directed to Akron-Princeville Ambulance, or to the Children’s Home in Peoria.
She was born on December 29, 1917 in Rushville, IL, the daughter of Calvin and Ruth (Hood) Bridgewater. She married Arlie McKeever on September, 26, 1980 and he preceded her in death. She is survived by three sons, Reynold (Linda) Daniels of Snohomish, WA, Robert (Laura) Daniels and Darrell (Paula) Dunbar, both of Princeville, three sisters, Macel Miller of Rockville, MD, Almeda Geirnaeirt and Jeanne Ouart, both of Kewanee, a brother, Wayne (Sandy) Bridgewater of Kewanee, ten grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Louis Bridgewater, twin siblings in infancy and a grandson, Daniel Lee.
Lucille had been a sales associate at Grant’s and J.C. Penny. She was a member of Princeville Baptist Church and she enjoyed her family, cooking and collecting cardinals.
