The Illinois Department of Natural Resources is taking an important step toward improving Off-Highway Vehicle access by announcing the new Off-Highway Vehicle Usage Stamp will be available in early 2014 at D-N-R Direct license and permit vendors throughout the state. Illinois law now requires that an O-H-V Usage Stamp be purchased and displayed on off-highway vehicles. Funds generated through the Stamp are expected to total between 700-thousand and 800-thousand dollars annually. Funds will be used to develop public-access trails, and to capture unutilized federal funds available for trail development and maintenance through available matching dollars. In Henry County, vendors include the Annawan Phillips 66, Geneseo’s Farm & Fleet, and Kewanee’s Farm King. In Bureau County, Princeton’s Sullivan’s Foods and the Garfield Stier Company in Sheffield are Usage Stamp vendors. For a complete list of vendor locations, check the I-D-N-R website.
