The Arthur Choirboys and the Kewanee Klassics will perform a musical concert at 6:30 P.M. Saturday, August 24, 2013 in the sanctuary of the First Baptist Church, 123 South Tremont Street in Kewanee.
The Arthur Choirboys are a men’s four part harmony group which sing a wide variety of music including barbershop, 50-60’s era, and gospel. Members include Larry Icenogle of Columbus, Oh., Len Bogle of Decatur, Il., Steve Blucker of Arthur, Il. and brother Jim Blucker of Kewanee. The group has been together since 2007 and with member Larry Icenogle living in Ohio, Len in Decatur and Jim in Kewanee, practice sessions have to be scheduled well in advance. While Jim and Steve are brothers, Larry and Len were classmates of Jim at Arthur High School. The Kewanee Klassics are comprised of Jim Blucker, Brock Tumbleson and David Sherrard. However for this concert local musician Nick Humphrey will be at the drum set.
Special guest vocalists include Dan Craig and Rebecca Baney.
The fun never ends when these two groups get together and the music isn’t too bad either.
A free will offering will be taken with proceeds to go towards the purchase of a new outdoor chime system at First Baptist Church which will be enjoyed by the Kewanee community. All are invited to attend.
