The Walldogs Host Committee is announcing that the Garden Club of Kewanee is making a donation towards one of the murals that will be created by the Walldogs during their upcoming Kewanee meet scheduled for July 10-14th this summer. The Kewanee Garden Club has been in existence since 1958 and is a member of the National Garden Clubs, Inc. The club’s goals include beautification, education, and protection of wildlife and conversation of national resources.
Each year, the club plants a tree in honor of Arbor Day and maintains the Hosta beds at both Northeast and WestParks in Kewanee. Over the last two years, the club has planted and provided financial support for the hanging baskets located throughout downtown. The Kewanee Garden Club also supplied the new planters that grace the city’s new Amtrak depot.
Dianne Packee, Co-Chair of the Walldogs Host Committee comments by saying that these ladies provide the talent and hard work necessary to improve and beautify Kewanee with little acknowledgement from the public”.

The Walldogs Host Committee consists of 50+ volunteers working to plan and coordinate Kewanee’s Walldogs Meet scheduled for July 10-14, 2013.
