Senator Mark Kirk makes his first public appearance in Illinois since suffering a stroke more than a year ago. It was January, 2012 when Kirk had a stroke which forced him to re-learn how to walk and talk. WGN-TV says Kirk appeared with his friend and colleague, Illinois Democratic Senator Dick Durbin, at a press conference at Great Lakes Naval Academy on Friday. Kirk said part of his new mission in life is to personally encourage every single person from Illinois who's got a disability.
