Bruce Rauner is striking while the iron is hot on the income tax issue. The GOP candidate for governor has launched a robo-call to people who live in Democratic districts. He's urging them to call their state representatives and pressure them into voting against keeping the current five-percent-rate in place. The calls went out to seven areas where Democrats are facing tough re-elections bids. The calls went out just one day after Governor Pat Quinn failed to shore up enough Democratic support to keep the tax rate in place.
