Court Clerk Defends Husband's Role With Governor's Program

A Cook County official is coming to the defense of her husband's connection to Governor Quinn's troubled anti-violence  program.  Circuit Court Clerk Dorothy Brown told the "Chicago Sun Times" that any questions about her spouse's involvement with the Neighborhood Recovery Initiative are sparked by a "political witch hunt against me."  She responded to  the newspaper's report that her husband Benton Cook the Third had a felony conviction when he was placed in charge of million of dollars for the NRI.  The felony charge was for writing bad checks.  The NRI currently is under federal and county investigations.
