Health Officials: First U.S. MERS Case No Cause For Alarm

Health experts are downplaying concerns after confirming the first case of MERS in the U.S.  Federal health officials say while the disease can be deadly, the case in Indiana poses a very low risk to the public.  It involves one health care worker who remains in isolation at the Community Hospital in Munster.  He was diagnosed after showing symptoms of the illness upon return from Saudi Arabia.  Meanwhile, Saudi officials announced yesterday that the rate of infections is on the rise there, with nearly 400 confirmed cases of Middle East Respiratory Syndrome.
