U.S. Senate candidate Jim Oberweis points with pride at his push to raise the state's speed limit to 70 as one of his legislative accomplishments. Oberweis knows something about the speed limit, having been ticketed for exceeding it eleven times since 1988. The "Chicago Tribune" reports two of those tickets were for doing 60 or more in a 40-mile-an-hour zone -- both issued in 2012, the year he won his Senate seat. In most cases, Oberweis paid a fine and/or got court supervision. His opponent in the GOP primary, Doug Truax has two speeding tickets of his own.
