State Revenue Growth Continues

An improving economy is improving the cash flow for the state of Illinois.  The General Assembly's fiscal forecasters say revenue growth remains positive halfway through the fiscal year, with 800-million-dollars more coming in than in the first half of the last fiscal year.  That five-percent increase could provide some extra money to pay down the state's seven-and-a-half-billion-dollars in overdue bills.  The report adds fuel to the discussion of whether the state should extend the temporary income tax increase which is set to expire a year from now.
