The Illinois State Police say they are keeping pace with the initial wave of concealed gun permit applications after the first few days. More than 15-thousand applications have been received so far, and the State Police say more than 13-thousand of them have passed the first approval hurdle in the four-month process and are now being reviewed by local police and prosecutors. They have the power to object to a permit being issued. More than a hundred applications were rejected because they were incomplete.
