The Henry County 4-H Foundation will be raffling off a YETI Tundra 65 cooler to help raise funds for the county 4-H program. "YETI coolers are known for their quality, durability, and for keeping contents colder for longer." said John Dubois, President of the Foundation, adding "we thought this would be a great prize for people to have a chance to win while they support the amazing 4-H program that has helped hundreds of youth in our community develop their citizenship, leadership and life skills."
You can buy YETI cooler Raffle tickets to support 4-H for just $5 each or 6 for $20 at the Henry/Stark County Extension office, 358 Front Street, Galva, IL 61434 and the Rock Island County Extension unit office at 321 W 2nd Ave., Milan, IL 61264 as well as at various events during the Henry County Fair in Cambridge, IL. The drawing will be held on Sunday, June 24 at 1 pm in the 4-H General Projects building at the Henry County Fairgrounds.
The Henry County 4-H Foundation also raises money at their food stand during the Henry County Fair, which is an important part of the support the Foundation provides to the 4-H program. "We very much appreciate everyone who comes to visit our food stand each year." said Dubois "We look forward to serving you some great fair food, lemonade shakeups, and Whitey's ice cream malts again this summer."
The Foundation donates proceeds to support the 4-H program and also provides college scholarships to graduating high school Henry County 4-H members. This year's recipients of $500 scholarships each are: Kristen VanDeVelde (Galva) a member of Burns Boosters 4-H Club; Ellie Korthals (Geneseo) a member of the Rough Riders 4-H Club and Nicole Haverback,( Atkinson) a member of the Atkinson Boosters 4-H Club.
