The City of Bettendorf Public Works Department, in conjunction with National Public Works Week and the Bettendorf Recycling Commission, will host its annual Public Works Day Open House and Recycling Fair at the Bettendorf Maintenance Center on Saturday, May 19, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. The Maintenance Center is located at 4403 Devils Glen Road in Bettendorf. This event is free and open to the public.
Public works equipment will be on display to include garbage and recycling trucks, sewer cleaning machine, street sweeper, and loader. “Hands-on” backhoe operation will be available, and a snow plow blade will be available to paint. Face painting will be provided from 9:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. The Master Gardeners will be available to give tips on gardening.
Come enjoy free coffee, soda, popcorn, ice cream, hot dogs, and bratwurst. Register to win free bus passes, trash and yard waste stickers. Free loose bulk compost will be given away, and residents should bring their own containers to put the compost in (limited to a 35 gallon trash can).
