On Tuesday March 13, 2018 at approximately 3:57 AM Officers were dispatched to the area of 2800 Arlington Avenue in reference to a Domestic Call. The initial information provided was that a 43 year old male subject had armed himself with a gun and was walking towards the area of Locust and Grand Avenue, where he intended to confront a female subject who had previously filed a restraining order on him.


An Officer located the subject walking in the 2100 block of Grand Avenue shortly after the call and attempted to approach him. The subject produced a handgun. The officer drew their service weapon and shots were fired. The officer was able to disarm the subject and take him into custody.

 

The subject was treated on scene and transported to Genesis East Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The Officer was not injured. In following the Officer Involved Shooting protocol, investigators from the Scott County Sheriff’s Office are investigating the scene. No other injuries or damage was reported.
